I love love love the Grenade Reload Flapjacks!
I've tried all the flavours but the best are definitely the fused fruit and chocolate browning. They're higher in carbs and fats than other protein bars but if you've got the macros they're well worth it. I was particularly impressed with such a short list of ingredients, all natural and no strange chemicals or sweeteners.
Coconut chaos was ok but banoffee blast was odd tasting...bananas and flapjacks aren't a combination that usually comes to mind.
The texture of all of them though are spot on: soft, crumbly and full of oats.
Overall a great line of products I couldn't recommend enough!

Coconut Chaos - Great tasting bar easy to chew and the texture was great, its almost hard to believe these are good for you! There is also no horrible after taste with this. These are great for a quick snack to tide you over to meal time. The only downside of these bars are the protein content - 16g per bar is quite low compared to other but the taste factor makes up for this in my opinion.

A sound protein, carbohydrate and healthy fats snack/small meal.

The texture of the bar to begin with was surprising, usually 'protein flapjacks' are either too hard or too soft, this one however came with a texture which was both easy to eat without the bar crumbling out the packet. It was also very filling, ideal as part of a post work out feed or simply as quick snack.
The multi-oat sources in the flapjack provide the body with a slow realise of energy which also means you don't have a 'sugar crash' as some might experience with other alternative snacks.
The price is very respectful too, roughly a pound for one bar - considering a typical snack these days can equal that or even more.

This product would have gained 5 stars however i was not too keen on the flavour - banoffee. The chocolate one however sounds a lot more appealing.
    Overall a sound product.

Coconut chaos flavour tried - protein quality is not bad, but it's a little low compared to some brands.

Flavour really tasty, hint of coconut and oat. Very enjoyable.

Flapjack itself is soft and crumbly, quite filling and very nice. They're not hard or dense like many others, and Grenade have done a really great job here.

For just over £1 you can have these as a pretty reasonable and great tasting snack. If the protein and carb/sugar content aren't your thing then there are options that would fit you better.

Another grenade review this time its the bar these come in 4 flavours & im lucky enough to get the FUSED FRUIT so here we go.

These are a nice tasting protein bar this does taste as it says with a fruity flavour with a little crunch altho these should taste nice they got 15g sugar per bar which is not the best for most of us!!!!

These pack a tri source blend of SOYA,WPC, & CASEIN not bad there is worse proteins to use so im happy with that just not so good with them only being 22% protein & only just over 15g protein per 75g bar they need to up the protein in these!!!!!

Overall at £1 a bar they ok BUT you can get much better protein bars for a little extra.

I have just tried the Coconut Chaos flavour and it is the best tasting Protein flapjack I have ever tried.
I have previously tried the chocolate flavour which I thought was a bit too dry. But the consistency of the Coconut flapjack was very good, not too dry or chewy, it was just right.

At approx 15g of protein it has not got the best protein content when compared to other flapjacks, but this is a flapjack I really enjoyed eating, it feels and tastes like a flapjack, it tasted delicious. So just for that reason alone I would recommend.

I purchased the 12 pack of Banoffee Blast as I love flapjacks and I love banofee.

I’m still on the fence with Grenade products and how they market them. I find it quite gimmicky but hey, I’m buying the product, not the wrapper.

The smell is the first thing that hits you. It ACTUALLY smells of banoffee, which is always a plus.

The texture is to be expected from any flapjack, nice, soft, not overly crunchy with a touch of moisture. The moisture really only serves to bind all the agents together as these are still really dry. I recommend having a glass of water or in my case a coffee to go with.

Nutritionally there’s a good whack of calories in a 70g bar, with almost half (29.6g) being carbs. I’m unsure why over half of the CHO’s are sugar however (16.6g)? The protein level is ok, nothing to write home about. For a flapjack, fats are relatively high at 9g. Fibre however is a whopping 14.8g which is great.

So yeah, not the best flapjack I’ve had and certainly not the worst.
    Jamie 01/08/2014
Fused Fruit – The first mouthful of this had me thinking, not good.
But the more I ate the better it seemed to get and by the time I was finished I was thinking I could eat another. The texture is a little coarse but not horrendous, the taste is great, it’s kind of oaty but with lots of fruit bits in it, although it’s not particularly sweet which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Protein content is nice and high for a bar of this size but everything else is kept relatively low.

    I would definitely buy again.

Just tried coconut chaos and without doubt the best tasting and texture flapjack I've had. Great oaty taste and texture was slightly chewy but as close to a normal flapjack I've had.
Ok the protein is a bit low at just over 15grams,carb to protein ratio is 2:1 which for me is fine, sugar a bit high but I'd factor that into my daily eating (not that I bother to much).
At just under £1.10 each, great taste and with ingredients that for me were great for after my workout to feel I'd had something more substantial (protein could be higher) I think they are a winner.

Not bad for the price they taste decent . I tried Fruit Fusion it has some nice bits of fruit in it and a little crunch but 31g of carbs and 15.5g of that sugar is what im trying to avoid, its a pretty low protein content to at 15.4g.
£1 a bar is you cant complain but id rather go with the Sci-Mx Protein Flapjacks with only 2.1g of sugar and 21g of protein, also taste fantastic.

Grenade Protein Flapjack – Chocolate Browning

    Taste 7/10
This bar has a nice chocolate taste, which is not too overpowering and tastes like a chocolate bourbon biscuit to me. The chocolate flavouring is just the same as all other chocolate protein bars but it is the inside that makes it taste like a bourbon biscuit as it has a crunch. Not much of a brownie taste to me, but the chocolate pieces are a bonus!

    Texture 7/10
This bar is quite claggy in your mouth from the oats, however it is not too cakey like others which would normally dry your mouth. The bar doesn’t really have a brownie texture since inside it has a nice biscuit crunch to it, which I really enjoyed with the addition of chocolate pieces.

Price 8/10 - £13 for 12 bars which is £1.08 per bar, this is quite a bit below average which is a definite bonus! Much cheaper than their competitors and a normal chocolate bar would set you back around 80p now anyway (depending where you are in the country obviously) so might as well pay the extra 28p and get something better quality.

    Ingredients 5/10
This bar is around average (300kcal mark) in calories at 279kcal with a good 32.4g of carbs most of which come from oats but over 50% is still sugars which in my opinion is quite high. This bar has 15.5g of protein which I feel is a bit low and the quality of this protein source is poor in my opinion. A lot of people may be put off by the main protein source being soy isolate, it does also contain whey concentrate and casein which is a good mix for extended protein release but it really would depend of the mix of these. This bar also has nearly 10g fat which is expected as it is oat based and the protein sources are not the purest, not saying these are bad fats though. This bar is high in fibre with a good 11.7g, which can be seen as a positive thing when compared to quest bars that have 17g.

Overall 6/10 – Overall this was a decent protein bar, it tasted quite nice and I like the biscuit crunch. It also looks appealing unlike some other bars as this is perfectly bar shaped and you can see the oats and the chocolate pieces. This bar also benefits from a great price, but I had to mark it down as the quality of the ingredients are not the best compared to others on the market in my opinion, good amount of carbs, fats and fibre, but lacking quality protein and a bit too high in sugar for my liking.

    Flavour chocolate browning
This bar has a lovely texture, slightly crunchy but moist,
however for me I don't like chocolate flavoured food, would be keen to try another flavour,
on a personal level I also wouldn't buy due to the soy protein Content as I avoid it in my nutrition.

I've had the "Coconut Chaos" bar.

Firstly 10/10 for taste!! Oaty, coconuty (is that a word? ) and just the right amount of sweetness.
Very natural tasting bar and the ingredients show why.

Ok, the protein content is a little lower than other bars on the market. And the sugars (mostly from the dried fruit) are a little higher but as always if you're not bulking you just have to fit the cals in with your total daily intake. Great healthy bar in my opinion.
    Chris 24/07/2014
Seeing the positive reviews and inexpensive price I was keen to try these to compare with my usual "go to" (Reflex's flapjacks). The packaging always stands out with Grenade products, some think they are cool, others gimmicky....sadly I feel the look is now a bit dated. For a 70g bar the protein volume is ok, but it's not going to go a long way with helping your protein totals for the day (at approx 15g) and half of the carbohydrate content is sugar. So on a numbers & quality level these do not come close to the Reflex offering.

The taste is definitely a strong point though (as is the price), the bars smell fresh and chocolatey but the texture leaves a little to be desired. A bit too dry for me and I wasn't a fan of the (I'm guessing) "soy crispies".

For somebody looking for cheap convenient calories on the go then these are fine. If however you are more selective about ingredients and protein content then the Reflex bars are a far superior option.

The chocolate browning flavour version of this bar was simply delicious.
The texture was different to anything I have ever tried, was a treat.
Grenade for me have a brilliant way of marketing their products, very macho.
You want to buy half of these products just because the packaging is so damn cool.
I won't bore you with the contents as you can read this on the product description, but needless to say I loved them.
Having recently tried some of their other products I love this range, looks great, tastes great and they really work......job done!.
    Drew 20/07/2014
As with all of the Grenade products, the first thing that hits you is the quality!! It feels like a proper flapjack, you know, like Mum used to make!! Weighty, crumbly, and the taste? BOOM!! SO GOOD!!

Grenade have seriously gone to town on the ingredients list - 3 different types of oats, 3 types of protein, plus coconut oil and dessicated coconut both bring in healthy fats...

Unfortunately one of the protein sources is from soy isolate and at 16g per serving it is the lowest on the market (As far as I know), which stopped me giving these a 5* rating, as they are BY FAR THE BEST TASTING I HAVE TRIED!!
    Dale 18/07/2014
I have personally tried the Banoffee Blast and Chocolate Browning flavours before and they are both fantastic.

Grenade are well-know for many of their other products and have really delivered with these flapjacks!

They seem to have got their marketing spot-on, going for a very military macho feel which I think would appeal to mostly men. Seems like they know who their target audience is.

The texture of the flapjacks are spot-on, not too hard and not too soft. They are ideal as a treat at any time of the day and are an excellent protein top-up.
The protein matrix (Soy Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Casein Protein) may not be as top quality as other protein bar brands on the market but overall considering the price and taste I really like these!
    Irfaan 04/07/2014
    Flavour - Chocolate Browning

Review - Protein flapjacks are one of them products which you either hate or you love; they either taste like a load of chemicals or they taste too sweet. Grenade Reload Flapjacks on the other hand taste just right, the way a flapjack should be.
Grenade Reload flapjacks have a moist oaty texture with a hint of crispiness.
When it comes to nutritional content, there is a good split of Protein and Carbs (both of which you need for gaining size) along with only 3% or so of fat all coming in at 279 calories. All i can say is these flapjacks taste great!

Verdict - Great tasting, packed with protein and good value for money!

Bottom Line - There's nothing to say apart from that these are the best tasting flapjacks on the market, thumbs up to Grenade for making these! 10/10
