Next is those diet shakes which are regular protein shakes with added fat loss ingredients (CLA, Green Tea and L-Carnitine are the most common) designed to replace a regular protein shake. The advantage of this is that if you're already drinking 2-3 protein shakes per day then swapping for a diet protein shake is easy and introduces effective fat loss ingredients without having to remember to take extra pills.
Another advantage of this type of product is that they tend to be very low carbohydrate. This makes them more versatile as you can add your own carbohydrates when required (eg. oats or a banana) alongside the shake. The downside of this type of product is that unlike meal replacement diet shakes, they generally aren't suitable as replacements for several meals per day due to a lack of added vitamins and minerals.
